Diosa Counseling Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission of providing our local community low-cost mental health services.
We offer affordable mental health care, providing low to no-cost services to support diverse communities. Our services include individual and family counseling for all life spans, a graduate school practicum site for training future clinicians and nurse practitioners, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) for First Responders, and LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care. Additionally, we specialize in Critical Incident Stress Management to support individuals through crisis and trauma.
Our commitment to accessibility ensures that quality mental health care is available to those in need. We emphasize evidence-based approaches and culturally responsive support to create a safe, affirming environment for healing and growth.
We accept most major insurance providers, including Medi-Cal, and offer a sliding scale to ensure affordability. Our commitment is to make quality mental health care accessible, so financial constraints never become a barrier to receiving support.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.
We provide EAP services through Blue Shield, Magellan and Optum for first responders, California Highway Patrol, Wildland Firefighters, and emergency personnel and their families.
Please contact insurance for more information and authorization number.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing. We utilize talk therapy, sand tray, and EMDR.
Group Therapy is designed to target a specific problem with individuals who share similar experiences and struggles. Members, led by the clinician, act as a support network by sharing their stories and providing each other resources for improving a difficult situation or life challenge.
Types of Groups Offered: Anger Management, Grief and Loss, Intimate Partner Violence, LGBTQIA+ Youth, Parents of LGBTQIA+ Youth
All of our therapists, counselors, and social workers are allies in the LGBTQIA+ community. We utilize affirming techniques and strategies to educate each other in the delicate nature of using the proper pronouns and respecting each individual's right to choose their gender identities. We assist parents and caregivers in understanding how to best support their children.
There are multiple types of relationships that could benefit from relationship counseling. Premarital/marital conflict, infidelity, ethical non-monogamy (ENM), LGBTQ+, best friends/circles, or coworkers (to name a few). Relationship counseling can be beneficial to those who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held in a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
