I bring over 12 years of experience in the mental health field, working with clients across the lifespan, from infants to adults. In 2020, I established my private practice, Anna Lopez, LMFT, and in 2022, I founded Diosa Counseling Center, a nonprofit organization and training facility for graduate student interns and trainees. I also lead a diverse team of associate and trainee therapists, counselors, and social workers under my supervision. Additionally, I provide therapy services throughout both California and Oregon.
I am passionate about working with clients of all ages and supporting a variety of unique relationships and family systems. As an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I specialize in working with ethical non-monogamist (ENM) systems. My therapeutic expertise includes training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Thought Field Therapy (TFT tapping), Psychodynamic Theory, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Infant Massage.

I am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist #152718 who is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families find healing and growth in their relationships. Drawing from a narrative therapy approach, I recognize that the stories we tell ourselves and others about our lives can significantly impact our emotional wellbeing and interpersonal connections. I am in the process of completing my hours required for my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from UMass Global. I'm currently a certified drug and alcohol counselor (CADC-I #Ci35100322). I hold a Bachelor's degree in psychology and an Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology.
I've been in the behavioral health field for nearly four years and have worked with many populations in the addiction field, including individuals with co-occurring mental and substance use disorders, clients experiencing psychosis, and the inmate population.
My journey into the behavioral health field was preceded by many years in real estate sales. During this time, I helped others overcome fears and barriers to success, a role that inspired my transition to therapy. I firmly believe that small, strategic interventions can profoundly impact one's happiness and well-being. I am a MFT/PCC Trainee currently in the process of completing the required hours for me to pursue dual licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC) at UMass Global. I obtained my BA in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from CSU San Bernardino.
With over a decade of experience in working with children of all ages, I have developed a deep understanding of developmental stages, family dynamics, and the importance of individualized care. This foundation allowed me to build a career as a Behavior Technician (BT), where I have spent over five years supporting children, adolescents, and adults with autism, other intellectual disabilities, and/or behavioral issues.
Throughout my years of being a BT, I have learned to adapt a neurodiverse-affirming practice, in which I believe in accepting and embracing individuals for who they are, rather than looking at them to be in need of repair. This has led me to hold a strong commitment to inclusivity, and an even stronger commitment to fostering a therapeutic relationship based on empathy, non-judgment, and compassion.
As a younger professional, I bring a fresh and modern perspective that resonates with clients from diverse backgrounds. My transition from behavior health to mental health highlights my enthusiasm for continuous learning, which ensures I am providing the most effective and relevant support possible. I am pleased to be a part of your therapeutic journey.
